How Well Do You Sleep?
Here are some questions to ask yourself.
-
Do you snore?
- Have heavy or loud breathing while sleeping?
- Do you stop breathing while asleep?
- Wake feeling un-refreshed in the morning?
- Fatigue during the day?
- Suffer from headaches?
- Are you a mouth breather?
If you answered yes to any of these questions then you may have a condition called Obstructive Sleep Apnea. What happens with Obstructive Sleep Apnea? A person’s airway totally closes many times during the night and can significantly reduce oxygen levels in the body and disrupt sleep. In varying degrees, this can result in excessive daytime sleepiness, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, reflux, depression, occasionally heart attack and even stroke.
There are many reasons a person could have Obstructive Sleep Apnea;
- Nasal obstruction
- Narrow airway space
- Excess weight
